Need advice on primary school in Cork

Hi everyone! My son starts primary school next year and I'm a bit lost, will appreciate any advice! We currently live in the city centre but considering moving to suburbs, probably Carrigaline, within next year. So my options are: find a school close to work, that would probably be Blackrock), or close to home (Carrigaline but not sure). For Blackrock I've heard very good opinions about Beaumont boys school. But my doubt is: if we live rather far from school, won't it obstacle my son from making friends there? Another option: Carrigaline Educate Together or St Mary's NS. I couldn't find any information about St.Mary's at all.
What i'm looking for is a school with as little as possible religious education, preferrably mixed (but not necessarily), and most important - the one that "feeds" into a good secondary school. Thanks a million to everyone who replies!!

I have a friend who has a son in Beaumont Boys and she is happy with the school. My sons are in Glasheen Boys, which would be great for you if you are still in the City Centre, as it is a fantastic school. Having said that, lots of parents travel distances to attend Glasheen, so it depends on your circumstances.

I'm afraid I can't comment on the Carrigaline schools because I am not familiar with them.

bigbrotherfan, thanks so much! If there will be other kids travelling from other areas of the city, it will be a lot easier I guess. Tank you again!
