    how exactly do you do rehearsals? do you goover the whole play in one chunk or break it up?

    and how can you write linesso that they are easier to remember?

    Writers dont need to worry about how easy it is for actors to learn. Write your play so that it makes sense, sounds natural, if it makes sense it will be easier to remember anyway.

    For rehearsals normally for the beginning of rehearsals things take a bit longer because you are figuring out how and where people should stand, tones of voice, ironing out difficulties, so its very stop start and you wont have time to run the play. So you might direct scene one and two one week, direct scene 3 and 4 the following week. Then the following few weeks as the actors learn the directions again it will be very stop/start and you might not have time for a full run through. But you should start working towards running the play from start to finish asap so the actors will learn the run of it quicker.
    It would probably be an idea to try join a local drama group and see if they'll let you assist on a play they are doing from start to finish so you can get more of an idea of whats involved before trying to do your own play from scratch.
