    I had a quick look into them, because a friend mentioned they might be a good and much cheaper alternative to a bakfiets, but I got the bakfiets in the end.

    Have you considered a Trail Gator?

    Possibly not as fancy a device as the one you linked, but a lot cheaper and you can disconnect it from the child's bike and let them cycle themselves. Until she outgrew it, my youngest used to love it.

    Cheers. It's a nice idea, I just think that the seat with backrest would suit my child a bit more.
