Hi all, I'm in the process of doing up my house and am currently looking at insert stoves. I've been told Stanley are the way forward and I agree but the biggest they do is the cara+ that does up to 10 stoves and I have 13 in the house. I have been reading a lot lately and have come across the Stratford eb16 which is also meant to be a good brand and allows you to alter the heat output to the room from 2.5kw up to a max of 8kw. Has anyone out there inserted one? All feed back greatly appreciated and recommendations

I wouldn't get caught up on getting a Stanley, They used to be a great make in days gone past before they contracted out the manufacture of their components, the castings are chinese and not what they used to be, I have a Stanley deluxe range built in the 80's and 4 years ago the fire bars burned out and needed to be replaced. I ordered them from my local Stanley agent and he as much as told me to not expect to get another 20 years out of the new ones, and low and behold I need another set now.
there are other excellent all irish brands out there in my opinion Inis or Boru would be way ahead of modern Stanley in terms of quality.

I have the Inis inset stove and I'm very pleased with it. It looks great and the heat from it is absolutely brilliant. I love the fact that it is a quality Irish product too. I highly recommend it.

The father in law has a boru and has a problem where it keeps smoking no matter what we have tried nothing will stop it from happening. Inis looks very nice just might not be big enough for the number of rads I had but all recommendations appreciated. Very interesting to hear the Stanley burnt out so quickly puts things into perspective for me

Inis Stoves are no longer trading as of two weeks ago from what I have heard.
Turns out they were not manufactured in Ireland, somewhere in Eastern Europe.
A stove smoking will be a draught problem I'd imagine, not really the stoves fault if chimney won't allow the smoke to leave the stove.

Not good to hear about inis stoves, been looking at Stratfords range today, are actually more expensive than Stanley and apparently made in England but no more than inis take ur with a piece of salt.

He had an old stove in it before and never a problem, we have since extended the chimney by a further 6feet to have a greater draught on it but still no use, next up is putting a spinning wheel to see if that will help.

Henley are a good name too. I have a Henly Achill insert boiler stove installed for over a year, I think they do a 21kw version which would heat your 13 rads, my 17kw heats 10.

I have heard of them just don't know a whole lot about them apart from them having a 5 year warranty, will definitely do some reading on them as well. Have you had any trouble with yours since you bought it?

    +1

The in-laws have a Henley boiler stove, they're delighted with it. We've just installed one without the boiler.

One of the following, they are all actually the same stove with minor superficial changes. Most companies sell a version of it from the same factory as it's a fantastic product.Id go with whichever one you like the look of as you will be looking at it everyday.
    Henley Apollo 5
    Mazona Tucson 5
    Mazona Portland 5
    Heritage Pollmore 5
    Casttec Cougar 5
    Heritage Dunmore 5
    Henley Arklow 5
    Ekol Inset 5
    Newman Chelsea 5

No difference bar look as far as I know. One has a wheel primary air and one has a lever. Both will cost around €650 and do the same job. You could probably get a few of the other models I listed around €550. But there's a few up on €750 too.
