Help please, no phone number from vodafone

Hi All,

I am trying to see if I can switch from vodafone simply broadband to a sky bundle, but Sky need my phone number to switch and Vodafone say I dont have one cos Im on simply broadband, I gave sky my UAN but they need a phone number, anyone have this situation before and how do you deal with it?

Sky telesales have always been difficult as can be.

You've a standalone BB number, its 8883-XXXXXXX, should be on the head of your vodafone bill.

I'd assume you'd tell Sky you don't currently have a phone line, only broadband.

If you can, get a loan of a phone, plug it in and dial 199000. Dunno if that'll work though. You need a dialtone obviously to dial.

Just tried myself sky won't accept as on broadband only have a phone number on Vodafone bill.

Yeah sky wont accept CRN number, arghhh! so awkward, I wish Comreg made it easy to port from provider to provider like they did with mobile phone networks.

They do. Its called the unified gateway.

Skys CRM appears to not understand non POTS numbers and they've never bothered to recode it. They don't want your business, go elsewhere.

I'm with sky and they were always at me to change over but 1st was locked into other contract then could change but as no phone was on package they couldn't do the change.

If I were able I would get a decent deal of €35
