Temple Street ENT Apt

My daughter has had several perforated ear drums. Our doctor sent a referral letter which was received by the ENT section of Temple St on 2nd August. It was marked as urgent. I have phoned several times to see if an apt has been made. I was told that since the referral was marked urgent an apt will be set for November and that we will receive a letter six weeks prior to the apt. I have just got off the phone to them, I was inquiring again whether an apt has been made. I was told all ENT apts are on hold and that she may get one in March. This is crazy!

Is anyone else experiencing delays like this?

I feel like I am being forced to go private.

Go to you TD or go private.

    that's not a TD's job.

I don't think such a thing has ever been defined. They are public representatives and the only thing I've ever heard them be sanctioned for interfering in is criminal sentencing.

I was there the other night. The nurses and staff are completely run off their feet with the workload. Think you need to be in that right mindset to deal with sick children and babies. Very much underpaid for the work they do.

The ENT waiting list in my area of the country was 18 months.

OP if you can, I would strongly advise you to go private. Public ENT waiting lists are always huge, due to the sheer volume of referrals received.

If you are in a position to, go private. If she's suffering with her ears, that's a horrible dose. In some cases you're better to staunch it out on public but if it's something that's affecting her balance, causing her extreme pain and leaving her more prone to ear problems down the line you're better off just dealing with it now as its not worth the trouble.

We waited two years for an appointment for my daughter for Temple St ENT. Go private if you can afford it.
