We have radiators that have the old school twist for about 20 seconds to open and close them.

I know TRV's can be bought for radiators but I think most of them involve having to get a plumber to install and maybe draining the system etc.

Is there such a thing as a "plug and play" TRV ? . i.e. Just attach it to the radiator and job done, no need for plumbers etc.

If the thread is compatible, get a thermostat valve on them.

Thanks. But I'm not with you.

Is this not what I'm asking about in the first place ?

And just looking for a plug and play version.

    Sorry I replied too quick.

You can't replace the valve without at least draining the system or at least accounting for some water spillage. It's the entire valve, not just the top bit if you follow.

Thanks. What would rough total cost be to do this on 1 radiator ? Parts + labour + vat

I would guess call out fee of at least 150 plus parts. Not economical to only do one.

Do you own the property? I think there are grants available for this.

This is the problem. I don't own the property.

if it's a landlord you're dealing with then it's unlikely they will spend any more than is necessary. They're usually pretty stingy when it comes to stuff they don't absolutely need to do.
