We've been to a few viewings and the EA's ask us within the conversation what our budget is. I don't want to give away what our max is nor do I want them to dismiss us for a higher priced property that I might like.

How do others handle this without being rude / dismissive? I know I don't have to tell them but I like to try and be a bit diplomatic and polite so as to keep them on my side if needed.

Tell them that the house you're viewing is in your budget and leave it at that. Your not obliged to be diplomatic. Their job is to get the best deal for the vendor
