    Hi there,

Would anyone know of any outdoor/indoor tracks around the Dublin area? I'm looking to take some photographs of the tracks themselves for an upcoming project but I seem to be having a problem in getting permission.

Santry quoted me €200 for an hour which is crazy just to take a few pictures of the tracks. Even if anyone know of any public tracks that are a bit worse for wear...which would actually be even better for what I want.

    Thanks in advance!

If you go along when a club is training there - which is most evenings in Santry - you might be able to get a photo. If you don't mind working around the people using it.
I believe the ALSAA club track is in need of repair. Kilbogget park has a gravel track if that will do you.
No indoor track in Dublin yet, but Abbotstown is due to open in January/February

Lucan is gravel track, you get access anytime during the day really.

The track at ALSAA would be easy enough access I'd imagine.

Could you take photos of what's left of UCD track? It's now mostly a car-park, but there might be just enough 'red' left for a couple of photos. It's in a pretty sad state of repair, so might meet your needs.

Irishtown charge around 6 quid an hour for training. I can't see that they would have any objection to you taking photos if you asked at reception, after all it is a public facility.

it sounds like someone was chancing their arm, unless they thought they'd have to open up for a few hours just for someone to take photos

    Cheers everyone.

ALSAA finally agreed to let me take pictures. Santry said the regularly get requests to take pictures there...I doubt people pay the €200, and its an extra €100 for every hour after that. Madness!
