I ran out of shower gel and bought a huge bottle of body lotion. I thought they were the same thing?

It's white and creamy and smells like perfume. What do I do with this? Can I clean myself with this?

It rubs the lotion on its skin....

I would have thought one being called "shower gel" and one "body lotion" kind of give away that they're not the same thing?

Eh? Shower gel is for washing yourself.
Body lotion is for rubbing into yourself after you wash yourself.

Is it actually called shower gel though? I thought companies might give it a fancy name for marketing reasons.

Dammit! So I can't use it at all? Small bit on a sponge even?

I wouldn't know about all brands, but I'm pretty sure most of them still label the stuff as shower or bath gel.

Of course you can - just don't expect it to do much by ways of getting yourself clean. It'll just make your skin nice and soft.

We asked 100 ladies if they preferred to use shower gel or body lotion in the shower.

99% said "get the fcuk out"

It's not going to do much? It's an emoliant so your shower would be quite slippy I'd imagine if you used it as a wash. Maybe use some shampoo if you're stuck

Do you not have any soap in the house? Use that to wash yourself.

It will dry out your skin more than shower gel would, so use the body lotion after your shower or you'll get all-over dandruff. You'll end up soft as a baby's behind and smelling gorgeous.

This is so obvious you're going to wonder how you didn't think of it before you started this thread...Soap! Soap that you wash your hands with can also be used to shower with. Ta da. Clean as a whistle Homie!

But now I have a HUGE bottle of body lotion that I have to pretend belongs to someone else.

    Shame to waste it though...

Even the stuff in the squirty dispenser bottles?

Your nether regions are going to end up smelling sweeter than that lad's who was using the pube conditioner.
