    Hi
Considering a move from Cork to waterford for 6 months with work. What's it like for rent traffic brunch places? Rough or not too bad. Work in the hospital
    Thank you

It's a lovely place to live.
Traffic never bad compared to Dublin / Cork. Rents reasonable.
    Great cafes and restaurants.
    New Greenway.
Close to the sea and mountains.

Downside is that there can be negativity about the place.

    Positive points:

    1. Plenty of development going on in city centre
    2. Close to an abundance of beautiful beaches
    3. Plenty of nice places to eat and socialize
    4. 1.5 hrs from Dublin on M9 Motorway

    Negative points:

    1. Rents still quite high
    2. Waterford people very very cliquey and make no effort to get to know new people.

The place is also rampant with Ostriches, those who are unable to accept facts or reality. Maybe they're in a better place though? Jim Hacker aka John Halligan should now campaign for a MASH unit for the streets of Waterford. Maybe we should call it WASH!!! The link is for those who have no idea what MASH was.

I don't know what you are specifically referencing with that ostrich comment but if its about the hospital report then you are out of order, we should have 24/7 cardiac care as the reports terms and references were flawed and several consultants have come out since to support this stance.

Another thing to the OP- Waterford regularly gets the short end of the stick when it comes to tourism and promotion. Bord Failte leave us out of Irish brochures, we aren't even included in tv shows about the East of Ireland. I have no idea what we did to p!ss off so many politicians such that they consistently hold grudges against Waterford but that's the reality of it. Sad.

What we did is have the potential to threaten the status they perceive for their constituency.
