So have some very light ewe and ram lambs left they're about 25-30kg, have been getting meal for last month but are just not putting on weight, so would these but on more weight if housed and fed meal and hay or would they be better off left out and given meals?

What do ye do with light lambs or are there any other options available?

    Thank you.

Having the same debate myself - although my lambs are 33 up... Must weight them tomorrow and see exactly...

Debating whether to sell em as stores or not... Main reason for doing so would be am away for a while with work. So getting someone to feed them daily would be a awkward...

I have some other runty lads, around 25 - 30, will keep them ticking over, put on weight slowly til next March... Not sure how I'll do this, need to take stock of the grass situation tomorrow and see...

Few things observed here over the last few years on them type of stores
    - feeding meal doesn't appear to do much for them
    - They just hang in all winter, but some may not make it.
    - you'll be sick of looking at them and their just in the way
    - out of nowhere the spring grass turns them inside out
    - quiet often bring you €120-€130 next April when you least expect it.

I keep mine outside on silage with the odd shake of meal
