    Hope someone can help

I have an old Note N7000 (the original Galaxy Note) and I am trying to get 4.4 onto it.
My main issue is that the ROM on the SD card is not OK to install according to the CMW (Philz Touch 4, base version 6.0.3.1) and I cannot find a way to access the phone via USB to add a new ROM version.
    Error from CWM is
    set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
    E:Error in zip sdcard/442_N7000-STABLEv1.zip

I see some suggestion on google to update CWM to latest version but I'm not sure how to do that when I can't access phone sd card.

You have an external sd card? Just put the other rom on that and put it in, then flash from recovery. Been years since I've used CWM.

I finally could mount USB and add a couple new ROMs that way.

All ROMs give the same error so it's the CWM itself that is the issue.
