The Most Ancient European Towns Network is a working group of the oldest cities in Europe. It was founded in 1994, with the idea coming from the town of Argos in Greece, presented to the European Union. The group exists to discuss issues such as archaeological research, tourism and incorporating monuments into urban planning.

I find it interesting (and disappointing) that Cork is a 'member' but not Waterford.

    Good spot!

It doesn't appear to be very active going on the archived website but it's the principle of it really.

When you think of all the connections the city has had with the Dutch, Huguenots, Bristol, Newfoundland etc... these really should be brought more into spotlight to create new links today.

    No website.
A Facebook page with 74 followers and a gmail account.
    Who is representing Cork?

    What are we missing again?
