Well genuine question. The range he can reach is incredible, especially in his song You're the Voice, can someone's voice be trained to reach such limits or is it something innate. Coming into Christmas season, there may be one or two Boardsies considering a karaoke performance

He's no Joe Cocker or Michael Mc Donald.

Don't be calling people freaks. We're all someone's daughter, we're all someone's son.

He has a good range, but I don't think it's so incredible that you could call him a freak.

There are lots of male singers with very high voices... Off the top of my head: Steve Perry, Bobby Kimball, Bon Scott, Brian Johnson, Robert Plant, Freddie Mercury, Peter Cetera, Morten Harket... I'd say any of them could give him a run for his money. That's in their heyday. It'd be different now of course.

I'm lying awake as well wondering about 80 sensations John Farnhams voice. What a small world we live in.

It was a bit belted out and shouty.

I'm not sure it was that special. But some wonderful vocalists mentioned on this thread, Michael MacDonald, Al Green etc.

He doesn't even feature on any of the biggest range lists. Hitting a few high notes isn't the same as having a big range. Mike Patton (Faith no more) has the biggest range followed by Corey Taylor (Slipknot).

and that's before we get to the top end opera dudes whose range and power behind it would blow him away with the force of a thousand H bombs. Not the housewife's fave Andrea Bocelli either, with his nice tone but weak technique and range and power, I mean heads like Domingo, Caruso, Pavarotti and the like. Farnham isn't in the same sport, never mind the same league.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I'm nearly afraid to admit this...

Bon has a good solid consistent high voice too.
