This is not a sim racing post, I hope it's ok with the mods if I post some pics of some new racing bar stools I picked up recently. The sim racing community here is pretty small and I figured these might be of some interest to people on this forum. So we are about to redecorate our small kitchen and to make more room have decided to ditch the kitchen table and put in a small breakfast bar. I went looking for some racing themed stools as a top priority :D I found an American company called Pitstop Furniture who made some cool racing seats and tables, and after a lot of searching found a Polish distributor who could ship to Ireland (http://en.rsfurniture.eu/index.php?idz_do=sklep&id_produktu=26&id_kat=4).
I had to do a wire transfer to pay for the chairs which made me a little nervous, but the company answered every email and were very pleasant to deal with. Shipping was a little expensive but it was no surprise as they are quite heavy. The chairs have a leatherette top, a racing wheel style footrest, and what looks like a damper down the base:

I haven't found the clutch yet, so she must be semi-automatic :P

Build quality is pretty good in that the first chair went together easy as pie. The second chair was a little more troublesome to screw the base in to the stand and it also had a slight stain on the seat - there was some kind of black dye on one of the white squares. I would say some room for improvement in QC by the manufacturer. Overall though I'm really happy with them and they certainly add a bit of character to the room.

I was actually just about to post a new thread called General Discussion, like the ones on other sub forums as not being going off topic in the Sim Title threads.

DCully would you be okay with this?
I know Sim Racing is a bit niche but I think we should be doing everything we can to encourage new users to post and get involved.
Would love to see this forum grow a bit more.

Darwin those chairs a really cool looking! This thread reminds me of when they converted the Porsche seats to arm chairs in Top Gear, and used the engine block and a glass panel as a table for the show.

Cheers Doge, I really must make more of an effort to post here as sim racing has been a pet hobby since the days of revs on C64/bbc micro!
Not that I feel I have improved much in the intervening years :pac:
