    Hi
We have had Sky for years in my wife's maiden name, out of contract right now.

Is it possible for her to cancel it and for me to take out a new sub as a new customer at the same address to take advantage of a new subscriber offer.

A local guys selling Sky at a booth in shop today told me it was not possible

    I'd don't believe him

    Thanks

Unless things have changed drastically, I think your man was talking through his rear end. Of course, if you do as you are proposing, change the bank account that the DD will be coming out of. And if Sky question the address, you can say you are in a different appartment. Or you could do the address as gaeilge:).

Well yea that's what I was thinking

Sky have a new system in place for over 2 yrs to detect exactly what you are proposing to do. Some people are indeed successful and manage to do it but I know people who have been unsuccessful and had the account bounce upon signup and ended up with no tv service.. Sky class it as fraud and therefore i would suggest you ring them up and try and get a better deal by threatening to leave.
