    Any more details?

A root canal and a crown is an excellent option in some situations and not others. An extraction and an implant is an excellent option in some situations and not others.
There are some boarderline cases where is not at all certain which is best.

You really need a dentist who has sight of your teeth, X-rays and clinical history to advise you as generalizations are great but apply to nobody.
