Hi has anyone had any dealings with currys . I have seen a fridge freezer which is 789 in Ireland but on the UK site and NI it's 469 pounds and a further 40 pounds off. This is a huge saving.
I rang Curry's and asked if I ordered it to a store in newry could I collect it and they said store pickup is not available for an item that large.
Also they don't deliver to roi.they said get onto my local Curry's. But that defeats the purpose
Has anyone any ideas of what I can do. Thanks

Find out how much to ship to Parcel Motel? Granted it would be an oversized item and you would have to collect from a depot - but the overall savings might make it worth it.

    Buy it in Newry.

But they don't deliver to republic of Ireland. And they don't stock them instore.its delivery only.
The woman I spoke to said to contact Curry's in my local area within roi. I have no problem going to newry and buying it but they don't have them available to take from store and won't ever have them available.

Ah, got you now. If you live close enough to the north you could go into the store and order through them for collection in-store.

Funny thing is that Currys in the south is cheaper than uk for TV - according to irish times last Monday.

So shop around - in many cases local will be better option overall.

Btw - expect big price increases in uk soon. Company I work for has about a dozen uk suppliers and every one of them have announced price increases.

What did they charge you for delivery to Ireland tinkerbell2310? Did you negotiate an extra discount or was 1298 the basket total?

I think I discovered the answer to my question about delivery.

It appears to be €99 per order rather than per item which is great if you have a few items to get.

Ok thanks. I'm on the look for an oven and possible hob. Wonder if its worth it.. 100 squid is a lot for delivery. Has anyone got such big items through parcel motel?

I don't think the parcel motel oversize is an option for something like an oven.

€99 definitely erodes a large chunk of the saving if you're only ordering a single item. Delivery works out much better value for multiple items.

Parcel motel won't do items that big

From when u place ur order u will receive a mail confirmation.then about 2 days later they will contact you by email again for delivery.
We have asked for the 24th of Oct as we don't get the keys of house till that week. It is usually 14 days from order that they take
