Working full time, is there help available with rent?

    Hey guys. As the title says, I'm a single mam of 1, working full time. I separated from my husband a year ago and moved back to my parents but I think it's time to get our own place. Trouble is I'm only earning a little more then minimum wage an hour so it will be a stretch to rent somewhere on my own. I'm just wondering if there's any help I can get from social welfare because I'm working full time? I'm currently not claiming anything from them but I just don't see how I will be able to move out unless I can get some assistance from them. From what I've seen on line there's no help with rent if your working full time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

    FIS is also available, might not be much with one child, depends on your income..Hopefully some new incentives in the budget next week, there is talk of childcare assistance if you are paying creche at the moment...

    hi. can i ask did you get rent supplement when working full time? i have been offered 30 hrs a week but i think this means i will my rent supplement?? how did it work out for you?

    You need to contact your local welfare office and see if your entitled to the one parent family payment and fis. Also you may be eligible for HAP. And if working you should be entitled to the one parent family tax credit.
