Has anybody real world experience of the Stanley Reginald Boiler Stove, as we are thinking about upgrading our current stove and thinking about going with Stanley.

Amy advice from users of this stove would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks Kubota.

Hi I was just wondering if you installed the Reginald? If so how good is it? Would you reccomend it etc. Thanks

Yes, I went ahead and installed it. It is a good stove and adequately heats 10-12 rads with a good fire down. I got the chimney repaired (external crack) prior to fitting and installed a 6inch flexi flue with same.
You have to be careful when refuelling because sometimes a puff of smoke comes back into the room when refuelling. I don't know wither this down to the 6 inch flue in comparison to a 8 inch open flue. I did hear previously the same about puffs of smoke but the salesman assured me that the issue was resolved as they changed the baffle design.
It's a gorgeous stove but I have some reservations in relation to the smoke issue. My previous stove Hunter 8, never had any problems with smoke. So, I think a 8inch flue would suit it better, if your existing chimney is fine I would not recommend putting in flexi flue in spite of what the salesmen will tell you .
    Best of Luck with same.
    Kubota.

That's some great info, thanks very much for that. I have seen loads of complaints regarding the smoke issue and some others saying there's is fine, do you mind me asking what size of room you have your stove in and if it's too hot in the room or just fine? On paper the lismore is the one for us but we know a guy with it and he says it's not great so that's why I'm querying the heat in the room for the Reginald, many thanks again

Sorry for delay in replying as don't be on Boards too often.
The Room size is approx 5.5m long by 4.4m wide with the stove on the long wall, the room opens up into the kitchen via a double door sized archway, there's rads in the kitchen and living room that are left on. It heats it fine, if u put down a big fire it does get warm in the room but not unbearable.
We really had no significant cold spell this winter to really test it, but it works fine from a heating point of view with loads of hot water. I burn mostly turf and briquettes, it takes a fair bit of fuel to keep it going at a high output.
You will only get out of it what u put into it.
    Kubota.
