Anyone any idea the story with the Wolftrap. It's closed down yet again. But this time all the signs etc outside have been removed. Looks like it's the Wolftrap no more. Is there a new pub opening there or is it another De Bruins?

The owners of the building (not the operators of the bar) were in recievership, and the bank sold off the building to put towards clearing down the debts.

The lad that was operating the steakhouse upstairs has relocated to the Tap.

A lad in work told me it was opening up again in a few weeks. Any truth in this ?

I was under the impression that those people mentioned didn't own the building anymore. I though they sold it some years ago to the would be developers of the shopping centre that was planned. It was a great pub back in the day.

Looks like there is something happening in DeBruns,
There was a "up for lease" sign a few months ago but it is gone now, also they have cleaned up the windows, as in took down the old signage and blacked out the window

They'll have some amount of refurbishments to carry out. That building must be totally rotten inside after all those idle years.

Seemingly the story with De Bruins is the guys who run the Copper Pot were going to take the lease on it and open it again, but the Bridge House got wind of it and took the lease at the last minute. I don't know if they are opening it again.

Passed by there recently as they were painting and the smell of the place after the fire would knock you out. Going to be a tough job getting that sorted.

Biggest problem with the place was squatters, they had part of it destroyed. Rest of it is in good shape though.

Wolftrap has been bought by Carriag Brewing company and will be opening the end of February as a craft beer pub, yeahh.
    :D
Delighted with this news, Tullamore is a dessert when it comes to choice of beer.
