Beware the presale. I am trying there now and getting CRAP ones in block K row 48. In other words, up at the very back, near the back row.

Unless you can find better, I suggest you wait for the general sale.

By all means keep trying, but I would flat refuse to sit up there. Download a seat map for the three arena and check what you are offered.

    Good luck

I managed to find the event by searching for Greene. I'm going to hold off buying though. €57 is a bit steep currently. Might see tomorrow after I try get Coldplay tickets.

€57 to see a glorified tribute band! Unbelievable.

Yeah, TM can facilitate choose your own seats at rugby games so don't see why their system can't do the same here.

Because they want to sell off the crap seats first ,that's how they operate .

I can see the appeal of an orchestra, but what does Greene herself do? I just watched some footage, she was wearing headphones and smiling. What am I missing?

    Jesus.

    I'll try outdo it...

Woman who made Irelands Z list due to her sexuality and polishes the shoes of washed up boy band star in her day job with the aid of RTE flogs tickets to 90s tribute night with prices more than that of many legit artists...Enjoy the gig lads :)

    She presses play

While drunkenly slurring into the mic and waving her arms around occasionally

This sort of thing is surely more suited to the national concert hall or a smaller venue.
Cant see this selling many tickets at all.

There's obviously a big market for this type of guff. There's a similar gig being held in the same venue in December with the Hacienda brand behind it. It's all utterly cringeworthy but people seem to be lapping it up.

What? That was the general consensus from those who attended was it not? Me and my friends left after about 20 minutes along with a crowd of others.

I hope ye are wrong about this being ****e and just being music snobs !
Got tickets to this and really looking forward to it , love jenny greene as a dj , so she might just play other people's songs but it's the songs she chooses I'm sure the orchestra adds a touch of originality surely !
In this day and age 57 euros is not a lot for an evening out I'll be home and dry for about 200 euros for the whole event including hotel train ticket and food, on the other hand I wouldn't go see Coldplay/U2 if I got the tickets for free just no interest in there style of music, nor would I attend electric picnic so it's a perfect opportunity for me to see this I'm sure there are many others in the same boat

Let people enjoy there music style and gtfo

Just confusing their opinion for fact. Get those sorts everywhere..

I'm not saying it isn't enjoyable. She presses play on the CDs and the orchestra play along. There are plenty of people who enjoy sh!t music and sh!t gigs. I'm sure some of the people who stayed until the end at EP enjoyed it but that doesn't make it good. €200 all in for a night at this absolute insanity imo but each to their own!

Was just about to post that the whole thing is a rip off of what Pete Tong did in the UK, and it was cheaper there with a far better orchestra and an actual proper dance music DJ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,355 ✭✭✭cruhoortwunk

To put it in context it's almost the same price as Jeff Mills with the Rte Orchestra in Bord Gais

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 238 ✭✭Vivienne23

Oh sorry I didn't think ****e and enjoyable were the same thing ! Anyone actually looking forward to this beside me ? Rip off or not I wouldn't know a Pete tong song and hardcore dance is a bit repetitive to me you can't beat a sing along tune !

Is an orchestra not an orchestra ? Didn't realise there was better ones and bad ones is it not the same instruments?

I did enjoy seeing these at EP, was fairly cool. Wouldn't buy a ticket for a standalone gig myself, but it's a decent show, definitely worth going to if you have a ticket!

Enjoyed the Pete Tong BBC Proms gig, albeit on telly. Did not enjoy the RTE gig at EP. Sound was poor, and imo, the tracks selected were inferior to the BBC choices. The Heritage orchestra for the Proms ran to a 70 piece set up, as opposed to the RTE concert orchestra's 48 for EP. It was a poor relation on a number of fronts. But maybe this outing will be better. If you're going, hope you enjoy it.

The full set list. The jack ass singer at the end was a low point for but it was class and I wouldn't be a fan of pete tong but he did well with this.

Yeah John Newman added nothing to the last 2 songs
But this was a top show by Pete Tong and the orchestra

Would much prefer to see this rather than Jenny Greene tbh

Went to this last night. Was average enough and nothing on the Ulster Orchestra version with Seb Fontaine earlier this year.

Had a vocalist for 90% of the tracks whereas I was hoping that the orchestra would be the focal point.

There was a large part of the music which clearly wasn't being produced by the orchestra too which was disappointing.
