Hi all I am running now nearly a year got up to 13km plus and was really loving it. Gave it a break for a while, but when I went to start back again started getting awful shin splints and it's really doing my head in now at this point don't know if it's the way I am running or what it is, but can't even complete a simple 5km now

If none help, physio is probably your best bet. Good luck.

Stretch your calves well a few hours before (or even the night before) and do not start off too quickly.

I would always get sore shins when running on my own and listening to music at the beginning. If i ran in a group i never had issues as our pace was more relaxed
