Italian Olmo Sportman from around 1990. Approx. 54 cm frame. Fits 5-10 perfectly. Would suit 5-8 to about 6 ft rider. Frame in very good condition - no rust, although has a few marks and scrapes. 2x7 drivetrain, with Hyderdrive chainrings. Mixture of Shimano Exage 300 and RSX kit, which I think were some of the earliest STI kits from Shimano. Bike rides very well, and is relatively light for a vintage steel bike (about 9.5 kg at a guess). Would make a good winter bike. Would also make a great restoration project, seeing as the frame is in such good condition.

Not sure if photos are allowed in this forum, but here goes.

You'd want to put an auld price on it. ;)

    Oh yeah, my bad.
    €200 ono.

Actually, I just read the forum rules (I know I know, I should have read before posting), and note that I cannot advertise here if I have it advertised elsewhere. I posted it on Donedeal a few weeks ago. It's probably dropped off Donedeal at this stage. But if the Mods want to close this thread, that's fair enough.

    Hi

Notwithstanding what you have just said, i would be willing to offer 175 subject to seeing the bike for a fit and measurement. I mostly cycle 52 and 53 cm frames, but am looking for an old steel frame.

Also what size are the chain rings? They don't look like 52/44 but maybe something smaller?

    Hi guys
The chainrings have 52-42 stamped on them. Fair play to your eyesight Guanciale, for spotting the difference between a 44 and 42.
Re frame material, theres a CrMo sticker, although I cannot be sure if this is original or not. I reckon it is.

I guess I'd be willing to sell for €175, but am hoping to get the €200.
Regarding size, if you normally ride a 52 or 53 cm frame, you should be OK on this, but you will probably need to change out the stem. The previous owner put a long stem on it. It also happens to be the ugliest stem I've ever seen. But if you put on something closer to 80-100 mm you should be fine.

The Azonic decal on the TT is some crap decal the previous owner put on. If you remove that, and replace the stem, you'd have a nice bike.

    Outfox:

    Where are you based?
Also what type of tyre clearance is there - could I comfortable get 28mm and fit clip on guards?

    Based in Cork.
28 mm tyres would fit I reckon. But I don't think there is enough clearance above the front tyre for 28 mm and mudguards. Or 25 mm and mudguards for that matter.

If you're set on 28 mm tyres and mudguards, I'm about to put another one of my bikes up for sale, which would take both.

Thanks. I will pass on this one and wait for the other. Nice looking frame. GLWS.
