Hi everyone just looking for opinions on the cheapest run around to insure to keep up my no claims bonus ?

iv been driving a bike the last year so had no need for a car and sold my 2.0 tdci mondeo (insurance on that was over 700  )

    im 26 , full license , 8 years NCB.

was thinking along the lines of a micra , cinquecento , clio , punto of these .

You'll have to ring the insurance companies so they can consult their magic 8 ball.

At a guess, best bet for cheap"ish" insurance would be as new as possible with as small an engine as possible.

Are you really willing to spend a few thousand euro to hold onto the NCB? How much had the NCB saved you, considering it maxes out at about 5 years? So saying it's been 8 years is irrelevant.

Bunch of robbers :D cheaper for me to insure a 600cc sportsbike first time on a first permit than it is on a diesel mondeo with a full for years :D ha ha dont make sense :)

Yeah i guess ill have to ring up . the car would be parked and locked in the garage 95% of the time anyway :D

It's less for bike as little chance you'd have 4 passengers on the bike so liability risk is lower.

The NCB is valid for 2yrs from cancellation date so if only 1yr without car then you have time yet...if you do decide to let that hard earned NCB you could fibd getting insurance in the future as a 27yr old with NO NCB as near impossible -never naming

Car wise, corsa 1.0 & 1.2 are both cheaper than punto 1.1/1.2 incase you getting quotes

When I was looking for quotes this year I got the agent to check a couple of other cars for me the quote was the same on my 2.5L 5 series as for a newer 1.6L Corolla. What I took from that is that it seemed to be more correlated to my age than engine size or BHP.
