First things first are those wired speeds? And how is the Airport connected to the Sky hub? What speed test service are you using?

I'm a little suspicious of that 0 dB figure; there should be some attenuation. I'm not familiar with the Sky modem though so it might just be a harmless glitch.

That gives you a line length of ~1.7KM, which puts you on the cusp of the 12Mbps profile and 7Mbps profile (if the figure is correct ... sometimes we've seen people with 100m lines showing 1000m attenuation figures )

The line may not necessarily follow the road, so you can't depend on the driving distance to the cab.

That's why I said sometimes the figures give wrong results :P.

I don't see where Fibrerollout.ie gives you a distance result. Are there any other cabs in the area? You might not be connected to the one closest to you.

At 470m you should be getting over 80Mbps.

If you fire your number in here and it tells you 50Mbps, then your modem is probably telling porkies. ;)

Bad install/Fault/Microfilter used on a short line. A long line wouldnt get near 10Mb US.

Are you using these where your modem is? If so, you should NOT be.

After that is the modem at the master socket, did you move it? After that, sky need to fail the installation and have them come back.

Yep. Most likely the fault will be immediately apparent when they request the cab tests the line.

A borderline line can be ok during the day and flail at night when the noise floor goes up. Or it could be Skys wonky peering.

Take fresh readings before 5PM and after 9PM one day and compare. That'll rule the line in or out.

Sorry, I meant line stats not speed tests.

Sky have atrocious contention issues at 7-11 pm in both towns I've had it. Cobh and Letterkenny.

Assuming A. thats a wired test and B. nobody else in the household is downloading a nightly copy of Wikipedia then thats Skys network.

The good news is their CSRs are probably the most professional.

    Just because.
The stuff he's showing are from within the sky modem itself.
