Guttering on steel shed

Any suggestions on how to install guttering on a steel shed? I'm reluctant to pierce the steel walls for bolts as it might cause corrosion points, do you think this is an issue?

    Use silicone on the bolts.

Aren't the panels already pierced where they are bolted on to the frame?

    Hi Steve,
Would the silicone last? Yes they are already pierced but I'm just a bit reluctant to go drilling more holes in my brand new shed that cost me €€€!

    Totally understandable.

Maybe a better solution would be to use a tar like roof sealer. It never sets, bitumen based. The main thing is to keep water and air out of the screw hole to stop corrosion.

The name of the stuff escapes me right now, I got it in B&Q

That sounds good, thanks. I'll ask about it in B&Q

Could you not use Tek fixings, such as already used to fix the cladding, the rubber seal under the head will prevent any water getting into the hole.

Each gutter bracket would need 3-4 screws. I would attach pressure treated timber to the shed first at a few locations, then screw the guttering into this. It will also allow you to align the fall on the gutter correctly. If you want a clean look you can cover the timber with some UPVC facia board, have done this before and it looks great.

If you made simple little brackets for it, could you slip them up under the roof sheets ?

Just wondering how you got on with this job. Have to do the same thing myself and don’t want to wreck the shed

Steel sheds in Ireland are rot boxes. Flatten it and build concrete. End of story.
