Overflow pipe

So my overflow pipe is leaking, and of course it's positioned right above the back door. It gets very bad when the heating is on for some reason (as I only found this out last night), and running the cold water does stop it eventually. I've no idea what to even look at in the attic... Anyone any ideas?

Look at large tank in attic and see if water is up to overflow outlet. Ballcock might be leaking.
