    Hello all,

I hope this is the right place for this question... In terms of carrying service with you as you move?

I was 4 years in a public sector job and last year moved to a semi state company... my question is, should I have carried my time served with me as if I would have if I moved to another public sector job, instead of going back to the base starting salary?

Have any of you heard of anyone moving from public sector to semi state and carrying their time served with them in regards to remuneration?

    Thanks for reading
    H

Unfortunately no incremental progression between public sector and semi state. There may be a carry over of pension depending on which semi state body. Usually it's non commercial but there are some exceptions. If you are a member of a union it's always worth checking if there are any agreements made. Did you have many years worth of increments to carry? I have heard of cases where agreements are made for increments to be carried but only if you were full time and the first 3 years are discounted. Surely the starting salary is a term to be negotiated before taking a new job? not almost a year later?

I got incremental credit moving frm admin role in commercial semi state to local authority....this was 10 years ago though.
I'd say this would need to have been negotiated commencing employment...
