Horstmann economy 7 quartz - automatic timer stopped working

So recently the automatic timer stopped working.
When I spin the clock the light doesn't come on at all, and there is no little "click" any more to indicate it's now on, and then off after more spinning.

    Boost works and heats water.

Do I need a new control module or can I fix this DIY? I haven't opened it up yet.

I am not sure but I think this timer may have been recalled by the manufacturer at some stage.

I would suggest just replacing this if you can't figure out what's wrong very quickly.

Thanks, yeah I may just open it up and see if anything looks broken.
Possibly one of the electric shops around town will have a replacement control unit, they seem to fail after some years (according to some googling).

I'm not super comfortable around electricity but research shows the timer in these give up the ghost after a number of year.

Had a guy from Conboy Electrical out and he replaced it for 170 (new console is 120 )
At least now the fecking thing works again - with a whole year warranty....
