    Hey girls,

So I'm getting married next summer. I've just started to google wedding dress but all of them seems to be a bit (very) expensive. Anyone knows any nice & affordable wedding dress shops in Dublin? My budget is approx. 500 euros.

    Cheers.

The obvious ones are Debenhams and Monsoon, but personally if I wanted to spend that amount, I'd go on to Asos or J Crew or even Davids Bridal.

Obviously I've not done exhaustive research, but I'd be surprised if there were any Bridal boutiques selling dresses for €500 or less. Maybe you could have some luck at a sample sale or something?

Sample sale or closing down sale would be the best bet for actual bridal shops.
Asos has a fab bridal range all less than your budget! :)

Thanks for help! I would definitely try those online shops but that means I cant try them on before I got the dresses, doesn't it?

Well yes, but thats online shopping for you.

Asos anyhow have a really good returns policy - basically free delivery and free returns, so theres no real risk in it, once you've time enough to send things back and order new sizes if needs be.

Also another one I've just thought of is Phase 8.

Their regular (non bridal) stuff is sold in the likes of BT2 and House of Fraser, so you could go in there to try on some of their dresses so you understand their sizing, and then order from their Bridal range which I think you'd have to get online.

    Lovely thanks a million!

Watch out, these shops dresses are average 600e/700e (phase 8, monsoon, J crew etc) you'll need to keep an eye out on sales etc to get something in budget.

What kind of style are you interested in OP?

If you want a bargain tea length dress something like Chichi could work out very affordable.

Virgos lounge (Internet again) have a small range at the top of your budget that could be worth a look.

    .

Some are over budget but not all. I've been on the Phase 8 website and prices start at £350 and the most expensive is £595. Stirling is pretty weak right now, according to XE.com, £350 today is going to cost you €400.35.

Monsoons website, prices starting at £299, rising to £499 for their most expensive dress. Majority seem closer to £299 however. One advantage to Monsoon (ans someone correct me if I'm wrong/out of date on this) is that they have some bridal dresses in stock in Grafton St (and maybe Dundrum?) so the OP could possibly try on.

On reflection - J Crew might be too pricey, unless you get their sale.

Asos is probably the cheapest option I'd say, they carry Chichi too, dresses starting at about €120 if memory serves me well! :)

Yes but how many dresses are actually near or under the budget? 3/4 hardly a lot of options for a B2B. Sorry I'm not trying to be negative but I'm in the same situation and a lot of "budget" options are not really that budget, unless on sale :*(

Yeah true, on Phase 8 I'd say that 4/9 options are on/under budget.

On the monsoon website, 9/12 options were on/under budget, so thats much better.

Asos is definitely affordable - their site seems to be down atm, and I wouldnt dream of trying to count their options, too many!

Debenhams had 14/19 options on/under budget.

Maybe if you're not stuck for time, what I'd do is sign up to all their mailing lists and look out for special offers/discount codes :)

    Don't lose hope!

Op, I bought my dress on ASOS. I took all of my measurements and ordered the size closest (but larger) to their measurements. It will need some nipping and tucking but it's fantastic quality!! I'd highly recommend

When I checked monsoon it was 3/9, hence why I commented. I thought it would be a lot more affordable before actually looking at prices.

I'm going to try check out OXFAM bridal myself just out of curiosity I think.

Would you consider a second hand dress? I got mine from Adverts and was very happy with it.

Also look at bridesmaid and formal dresses. I found a fabulous gretian style bridesmaid dress which I ordered in Ivory for €225.

Maybe try Memories Bridal Boutique - Templebar & Cork I think. They do great off the rail collection. I found my dress here!

Is that the place that takes pre worn dresses and sells them on consignment?

I got my dress there - it was new with labels on and I think it was €450. They had quite a lot of dresses - many seemed to be second hand, although in pretty good condition. I also went to Barnardardo's bridal in Dun Laoghaire - the dresses were all new and I think the prices started at €350 and I found the lady who showed them to us very helpful. The selection in both places isn't of course as good as a bridal shop so you're not guaranteed to find a style you like in your size but it's definitely worth a look. I saw Memories bridal mentioned - they had lovely dresses but I'm not sure any of their dresses are under €500. They were very helpful and only showed me dresses that were close to my budget though.

I think memories work on a % of what the dress's original RRP was. Obviously the seller and the shop both need to make money, so I'd say that under 500 might be ambitious when everything is taken into account. No harm in looking though since its in town.

Absolutely - it's well worth having a look there.

I got mine on Asos. It was gorgeous and really unique. I think it cost €120 but I got a student discount so it was more like €100! I'm usually a size 10 so I ordered their 10 and it was perfect.

I'd second Barnardos Bridal, I got mine in the wexford shop and the selection is amazing and all new dresses. They were all under 500 when I went with lots well under that.
