Have some year and a half heifers to feed on dry land for the winter and will let a bull to them in jan/feb, wondering how much barley to feed per day instead of feeding nuts or should i just stick with 1kg/day nuts, will be feeding hay as well

Current weight? Breed? Expected weight at breeding? Grass cover? Stocking rate? Makeup/ingredients in nut? First comment, growing youngstock need good quality protein, little or none in barley. Second comment .7kg/day liveweight gain is maintenance on stock like this.

Forget about your Barley , it's only going 9 10 percent protein at best . Get a good quality nut preferably with a high energy content , not just high protein , they will need a bit extra to keep them growing if there going to be outside , if not they will be just stay at a standstill all winter

At year and a half they should be near fit. 2 kilos and a bit of soya hulls should be loads

    Would Barley/soya mix 75:25 give you a %18 protein? 1.5kg per day?

+1, and if they are not fit to bull you need to be asking serious questions as to what happen the last year.
