Water Quality Limerick City query

    Hi folks,

Further to a thread in the Limerick forum (HERE), can I ask if there are any issues with Water Quality in the Limerick City area?
I had a look at the link on the Council website (below) to water testing, and there are some results of note in there, specifically, a 66% compliance rate for cryptosporidium, and a lower compliance rate on named weedkillers/pesticides.
As I say in the Limerick forum, I'm no scientist but would be a little concerned at some of the statistics/results. Can Irish Water set our minds at ease, or confirm if these results are an issue, and if so what can be done?

    Thanks,
    Wise Old Elf.

    Hi Mairead,
Sorry, should have clarified, I'm on the Limerick City public water supply (I think). I don't think I'm in the environs, we're in the South Circular Road area.
    Thanks

We have followed up on this matter for you and can confirm that this supply has had no Pesticide exceedances in either 2015 or to date in 2016.

There was one exceedance for MCPA detected from a sample taken in Sep 2014. The 66% compliance rate identified by the customer below for Cryptosporidium on the Limerick City and County website appears to be primarily due to exceedances detected before the establishment of Irish Water. We can also confirm that there has been no Cryptosporidium exceedances on this supply from Jan 2014 to date.

    We hope this helps.

    Kind regards,
    Mairead
