I think it's a great idea, it's a pity we don't have much of a rail network in Ireland however. The trains in Europe are amazing, great way to travel, and a great way to promote integration and the EU throughout its member states.

Yeah the Erasmas and Erasmas+ initiatives are fantastic ways for young people to experience new cultures and gain some independence and learn about themselves.

The Erasmus+ programme is massively under-used though. So much potential and soooo much funding available.

I was unable to go on Erasmus this year (the year my uni offers it) due to illness so I am very bitter to all my class mates off to France, Sweden and Poland :pac:

Have a look at the Erasmus+ Programme. You might find something you'd like to do once your graduate, could make up for missing out.

There's also Eunicas, which gives university places to Irish (and British before they threw it all away) students in universities and colleges across the EU. They do their subjects usually through English, but experience 4 years of university life in whatever EU country they choose. Fantastic opportunity.

    Eunicas

So the EU Parliment is set to vote on a motion to give all EU Citizens and legal residents a free interrail pass on their 18th birthday to boost their sense of belonging and europeaness.

    What do the AHers think?

I think it's a great idea and might even petition for it to be backdated. Be great fun having a jolly adventure with my mid-30's chums next summer.

    Whats this chums business ?

If they apply retrospectively, I'm taking the family to Limerick Junction for the day.

I'd say you'll be grand tbh, between North-South cooperation programmes and the fact that it will be at least 3 years before the UK leaves the UK you've loads of time.
