    Hi all,

In a spot of bother re accounts,

My mother gave me the bag of receipts for the 2015 farm accounts and somehow, sometime in the last 2 weeks i have lost them!

I have looked everywhere to no avail, i work away from home monday to friday so i am dealing with two houses, a farm and an office so they could be anywhere.

What i want to know is what can i do? Will the factory, vet or the co-op have coppies of these reciepts??

Most co-ops & vets will use a certain account name to sell stuff under (fert/meal/vet medicines should go under purchaser name) so should have most of your transaction details, can't say the same for factory but presume so because of traceability.
Cash sales on smaller items and things like that are a lost cause though.
Have you tried tracing back your memory from where you last had them?
Or have you one of those cupboards full of bags filled with bags where it might have been put into.

Ask everybody you've dealt with for a statement showing all tranactions for the year....You should be able to identify a lot of these from her bank statements and cheque books.

Then use reasonable estimates of any other expenses incurred during the year.

Accountants deal with this kind of thing all the time....but the best advice would be to start by looking in all of the likely places and when you've done that, look in all of the unlikely ones....

    Best of luck!

I never keep individual receipts from coop ask for all purchases to be sent out on year end for accountant never any bother there would be small cash sales on this aswell. Most agribuisness attach sales to individual customer. Also was claimimg vat during year and had lost receipts from quarry, i just rang up the quarry and they resent them, so you should have no problem getting the most of everything back again just a bit of a pain

if I were you i would contact Revenue immediately to say that you have lost records and may be late with 2015 return and see if they will give you an extension. they are human after all and all they can say is no. then I would request duplicate bank statements from the bank. from looking at these I would try and see what further items that I need e.g. unknown cheques etc. I would also then go to the agri online website and download stock movement reports to see if these tie in. you can also get details of subsidy receipts. then as some one else suggested I would go to the relevant suppliers and see what they would give you. I would call to them in person to get talking to the right person rather than emailing or phoning

Ring the guards near where you live and work, some kind soul might have handed them in.
