This looks a very bad renewal of the Lagardare

Not sure why they didn't get more entries - must be holding for British champions day.

    Erysium 18-1 2.10

Has a chance on this ground. Won on it before.
Could be the one to challenge the more fancied horses.
Very consistent this year, always runs its race.

    18-1 ew

2/1 jet setting is massive but something just preventing me from going in

Shouldn't be, no British or Irish gr.1 over a mile for colts. Ballydoyle must not have too strong a hand when that was their best for the race

She touched 4.2 for about 1k before being backed to under 3 on BF. I see things like this and honestly wonder what kind of moron lays that. Even if it lost it was still a stupid price. Clueless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

    She did that well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Similar to Awtaad going off second fav the day at leop. There are some amount of headers sitting behind a computer screen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

She bagged 39K for the new owners. 1mln+ to go but she should be able throw a few good ones in the shed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,681 ✭✭✭BumperD

Do you reckon these are bots moving the prices on BF settling some arb positions?

Is the arc being streamed anywhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

    Aw Ffs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,908 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Pleascach fought so hard there, exchanged lead maybe 3 times over last furlong, always fighting back. So unlucky, nod beat it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Yeah she showed a nice attitude at one stage it looked like the winner would go readily by. Good training performance to have her so competitive after so long off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,908 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

    Bubbly Bellini 12-1 2.45

At 12-1 I'm liking this. Second here last year off much higher weight

    2pts win 12-1

Highland Reel e/w in the Arc.

Also done Found. I can't desert her now!

Found fairly bolted in, poor Arc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,137 ✭✭✭gazza1

Have we just seen the best training performance ever ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,047 ✭✭✭Itziger

Wow. I was going to post earlier about O'Brien's stats in UK this year where the wins and places and prize money has just been incredible but a 1,2,3 in the Arc. Amazing.

I don't think it's really poor tbh. Had Postponed Makahiki and Harzand come in the first three would it be said? Doubt it

Galileo really could possibly be one of the greatest sires of all time

Willie Mullins should have run Wicklow Brave given that Order of St George was 3rd.

    On the flat, probably.

He would have needed an operation to get in

Interesting race up next at Tipp. WM's Penhill taking on former stablemate Bel Sas.

Poor is probably a bit strong but average enough. Never rated Harzand, best of a bad bunch of 3 year old's this year.

And I never rated Postponed ever. Almanzor some machine I'd say

I bet Dubawi's tackle shrank a bit after that .

Hindsight and everything but imagine people backing Value at risk at near 2s on after falling in his first two chase starts. Madness

Dickensons first 5 in the Gold Cup probably out on it's own jumps wise.

Big double westerner lady and limato. Limato should be 1/2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭Peintre Celebre

Attendu in an e w double with Pleascach. Also ew on its own and 100/30 ew without the front two

how poor was Alpha des Obeaux today - nearly as bad as Grotesque yesterday

Mouse might have a few winners before Christmas with the horses he got from Mullins that are already fit, as he is not capable of readying a horse for this time of year - can't understand why they need to be brought to the racecourse totally undercooked - overrated trainer imo, his high profile wins getting him a bigger profile than is justified by his year round results

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Alpha Des Obeaux was running over too short in a decent Novice chase on his first start over fences around a track with some of the most difficult fences about so i'd certainly not give up on him.

Bollocks Morris is overrated. Alpha is well known to be hard to get fit, running over an inadequate trip, on a sharp track against race fit rivals. He jumped superbly before blowing up. Only one day in mind for this horse and that's next March in the RSA or the Four Miler and there are very few if any better than Mouse to get one ready for the festival.

Watched the race as was surprised at price, he jumped alright, albeit in lower grade. Commentators said he blew up but he didn't look fit to me, I was surprised how early the reins were being shaken.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

On Alpha Des Obeux, I'm not a fan of running a horse first time out in a graded race over fences. I prefer to see them in a beginners chase, they might hose up on the bridle but jumping a fence is a whole different ball game and you have to walk before you can run, doesn't matter how good the horse is.
