    hope this makes sense

Recently had to get a new immersion cylinder. Cyclinder was leaking so had to be replaced. So got a full replacement and it seemed like a good and reasonable job.

Unfortunately the water is not heating up very well.

The water heats up on the timer but it is not that warm (definitely not as warm as before) and the boost button doesnt work at all. The warm water doesnt even fill a bath.

I was advised the cyclinder and work was under warranty. Is this a job for the plumber. I hope it is something simple

How do you heat the water, with gas / oil boiler or with the electric immersion?

does the immersion switch have sink&bath on it ?
if so do you have it on bath?
try it on sink it could be wired in reverse
the thermostat could be turned down low

nope doesnt have sink or bath on it

it has a timer which I havent touched and boost button

The timer does heat the water but not very well and not a lot of it but the boost isnt working at all even though the light is on

Only have enough water for a shower and even then the water goes cold.Cylinder looks the size tome

Cylinder only recently replaced (i.e.last week) - would this be covered by the warranty.

Yes it should be covered by warranty.

You need to ask if the new cylinder was the same capacity as the old cylinder, you also need to find out if the immersion heater is the correct size for the cylinder.
If all of that is in order, you may just have a faulty or incorrectly set thermostat, or its has been re-wired incorrectly.
You need to contact the installer and get them out to rectify it.
