A Golden Era

    Hi,
Not sure if I'm falling foul of the mods in starting a thread about a specific book, but was wondering if anyone has had a look yet?

Its by Michael Gygax, and is the first in what could well be a few volumes on Irish masters' athletes:
    http://www.theliffeypress.com/a-golden-era-profiles-of-ireland-s-masters-athletes-by-michael-gygax.html
Frank McNally gave it (and Ann Woodlock) some positive coverage in the Irish Times earlier in the week:

I'm just wondering if there are many books out there about Irish athletes?

Ok, so we've had a great Ronnie Delany thread here, and there have been a few biographies (and the occasional autobiography) of other athletes but perhaps not as many as should be expected. (I suspect in some cases it could trigger defamation cases, or IAAF enquiries re the administration of the sport). There have also been a few "how to ..." by Irish athletes, e.g. from Derval O'Rourke on nutrition to Ruth Field's admonishments.

Just wondering if anyone could add a few books to this thread that are specifically about Irish athletes or Irish athletics.
