Since my new laptop has a 4k screen, some of the older adobe apps dont work well on it, in that they just dont scale well and you need a microscope to see buttons and menus. There are hacks but they dont always work.

I also like a few features in teh latest lightroom.
Trouble is i dont need another monthly subscription, I like paying once for the software and not putting all my images in the cloud.

Doesnt look like thats an option anymore with Adobe. I dont use the software enough to pay 12 quid a month for it unfortunately.

Just wondering how other people are dealing with this, are you trying different software or just ignoring it and continuing to use the old versions?

I use Creative Cloud so can't comment on other software, but just to clarify - if it makes any difference to you - you can store your images on your computer or anywhere you want, you don't have to save them on the cloud.

I'm more adverse to the monthly /annual subscription. I rather a one time payment, mainly because I don't make enough use of it on a monthly baais

considering photoshop was probably a grand before the subscription model was launched, i suspect you wouldn't buy it on a once off basis if €12 a month is too much.

all well and good if i used full blown photoshop.
lightroom was 120 quid. photoshop elements was about the same. thats all i need.

I can even live without elements, lightroom is fine for 99% of what i do.

seems its just the case that adobe just dont cater for the casual photographer anymore, the one who used to use elements or lightroom a few times a month.

You can still buy elements or Lightroom as a once off stand alone if you want
