yep thats the one. The height barrier is gone. There is a lovely lake beside it called brother's lake or lisanisk lake. great fishing for all species for anyone interested in that.

About 1 k from the town. Loads of good food in carrick with the hotel the shirley arms which I highly rate.

Also great fishing tackle chop on cross street called angler's choice.

My own motorhome is still not back on the road as I need to have a car insurance first and I now have a small van which they won't accept.

just chatting to one of the carrickmacross town committee and he says it's monaghan Coco that have installed this and they plan to put several more around the county.

I'm heading Lough muckno tomorrow for fishing competition... I believe the long team plan Is a caravan and camping site at the lake.

That's a fantastic spot, stayed there during the summer. Lots to do with the lake nearby and an excellent playground right beside the spaces.

No, it's not that far down. It appears that the trees on the left have been cleared and a carpark laid. Where the lighter coloured earth is, there is now a huge playground to cater for various ages.

There is still parking where those cars are parked. There's a very gentle slope into the lake, perfect for kayaking and swimming.
