It's clear that Sole Power is not the force of old and doesn't really have any business contesting classics. However all the noise and form suggests there is still something left in the tank after a long and illustrious career. The step down to listed class today in the 4:15 at Ascot gives it a chance to impress over the favoured 5f trip and good going. Other than a few snatches at listed/group 3 form, there's nothing else in the field that has Sole Power's proven ability. Hopefully the old boy still has something in the locker, and teaches a few of these whipper snappers a trick or two today. 15/2 with William Hill at the moment, expecting Sole Power to be there or thereabouts, so the e/w price worth taking.

Zarak is expensive to follow and is short enough today so probably worth taking on. Free Port Lux is a high class horse on his day and is lightly raced this season after some poor runs. He won this last year and he might out run his 20/1 odds. 2.50 Chantilly

Mille Et Mille in the cadran at 16/1. 4th in the Gold Cup and winner of this race last year. Up against a strong favourite but worth a min bet at that price

    Bronze Beau 10-1 LB 6.05

Won well last time out. I see no reason it can't beat this lot.
Same C&d . Ran a fast time over this 5F last time out.

    2pts win 10-1

The money poured in as the ground went to sh1te. Should have laid off, but didn't.
