Like the title says I did a fresh install of Win 7 (64 bit SP1 ) but cant do any updates -it says "searching for updates" but nothing else happens
    .

Tried various tools off Microsoft website but am no further on. All I've managed so far is to update IE to ver 11

Edit: Tried this page too but got "an add-on from this website failed to run"

The KB947821 update seemed to work but not the other two.

Adds: I have (mainly through aimless faffing about) managed to install the following
    KB2505454
    KB2533623
    KB2534111
    KB2639308
    KB2685811
    KB2729094
    KB2731771
    KB2786081
    KB2834140
    KB2882822
    KB2888049
    KB3020369
    KB3947821
    KB947821
    KB958488
    KB976902
    Windows Update Agent 76.7600.320
    Internet Explorer 11

But still cant get any further on.

KB3020369 is a strange one when I ran it it just seemed to just try (unsuccessfully) to download something but yet its showing as successfully installed in my update history  Winver still reports I'm running SP! Build 7601

WTF are Micro$oft at ? They're always banging on about the importance of updating ones O/S install and yet have totally b@ll$e$d up the process for doing so ? Are they trying to force people towards Windows 10 ?

Adds: I notive my NVIDIA video card driver is telling my a updated driver is available but is having trouble downloading same. -Could something be blocking updates in general from downloading ?

Windows 7 updating has been screwed up for over a year now. You pretty much need to leave it checking overnight, if not longer!

For this month only, installing this update should help. Microsoft are changing the way they deliver updates for Windows 7 this month so hopefully that will put an end to this.
