HTC one M9 overheating

My 17 month old HTC one M9 is getting unusually hot

It got a bit water damaged last year and was sent back for repairs. They said the USB board was faulty and they installed a new one

I have the latest android and phone/apps updates but even after a full charge the phone would be gone dead in about 3 hours. If im just browsing on chrome on it, the phone would start heating up. I download battery saving apps (they do **** all to the battery tbh) and force stop apps when im not using them. Even when i switch to power saving mode it still heats up

Main apps i use are Chrome, Facebook, Spotify and AIB. I would use the camara app sometimes too. I have a quick charge charger and the normal charger i got with the phone (not using the orginal usb cable i got with the phone)

im getting pissed off at this. Anyone have similar problems

I found my M9 would overheat a lot too, to the point where it was nearly uncomfortable to hold it.

The only thing I found that solved it was rooting it, and it wasn't easy let me tell you! Although when I did it, the phone had just been released so perhaps it's easier now.
