V5C Form Export Part

    Hi,

I am travelling to north this weekend to complete the purchase of a car. I have read several threads here about the V5C form and various flavours of dealer fills out form/ dealer hands form unfilled/ dealer tears off export part and I want to know definitively:

    - Should the dealer hand me the full V5C form or is it OK if he wants to tear off the export part and send it back thereby I receive the V5C form without this part?
    - If the dealer doesn't tear off the export part and send it back do I have to do this or can I just ignore and register in ROI? i.e. do I have to tell the UK authorities that the vehicle is permanently exported?

Apologies if this has been definitively answered somewhere here before but I believe I have checked most posts related and I cant get an exact answer.

Export part is of use only when current registered owner is exporting vehicle, so it's pretty much useless to the dealer.
However it's the same useless to you.
It will make no difference if you'll recenve V5C with or without export part.
You won't need that to register the car in ROI.

No, you can just ignore it.
It's the seller who should inform DVLA about vehicle export.
