Do people here that get paid monthly get paid on the last Friday of the month or on a set date every month?

I get paid on the 26th of each month. If the 26th is on a weekend, it would be the Friday before.

Set date and has been the way in every job I've had.

I get paid on the last working day of the month. So if that day falls over a weekend I get paid on the Friday.

Changes from month to month, in the last week but it could be the 23rd or the 30th or anywhere in between

On the 30th of each month and if it's on a weekend the Friday before.

Always got paid monthly. In my last job it was the last day of the month. In my current job it's the 25th of every month.

28th of the month, if it falls on a bank holiday or weekend we get paid on the Friday.
At Christmas we get paid 23rd

    Set date also.

If set date falls on a weekend, it'll be there on the Friday

    Third Friday of every month.

My experience is that the last banking day of the month or the 25th of the month (or the next banking day), are the standard.

My last gig was the last working Thursday of the month. My next one is on a set date - no idea yet what they do if that's a weekend or holiday.

15th of the month, Friday before if it falls on the weekend or a bank holiday.

Second last working day of the month (working day being mon-fri excluding BHs) so the actual date varies.

    23 rd of the month

I get paid on the last Friday at the moment, it means that it can be five weeks between pay dates sometimes, six at Christmas because we get paid early. There's a petition to change it to the 28th of each month, it was first proposed over a year ago but they are saying that it's a big operation for the payroll company. I thought it would just involve some changes in payroll software.

When I was in retail it was always Thursday paid on a back week.

Getting paid every second Friday FTW! :D

Interestingly if you get paid every Thursday(like teachers, and SW recipients) you got an extra pay cheque in 2015.

Both 1st Jan 2025 and 31st Dec 2015 fall on a Thursday meaning there were 53 pay periods instead of the usual 52.

It was estimated to cost an additional €200m to run the country because of this quirk in the calendar.

No it didn't. This quirk happens regularly. BTW, teachers get paid fortnightly.

Various different variation of monthly pay, it's all down to when you're employer does the payroll basically.

First Friday after the 14th every month

    Last Thursday of the month.

Last Friday of every month. That's the day it leaves the Company's account - as I bank elsewhere it's often the Monday before I actually get it.

25th of Month now, or the Friday if the 25th is the weekend.

Was the last Thursday of the month, much prefer the set day.

Every week :) I've turned down jobs cos they paid monthly. Ridiculous carry on.

  • I get paid monthly but in the middle of the month. Last job was on the 28th or the previous closest working day if the 28th was a weekend.

Pretty random, but it's the third Wednesday of the month. It's a total pain. We regularly have 5 weeks between paydays

Pretty clear he's wondering why the poster thinks it's ridiculous....
As am I ? Most large companies do it

In most industries you'd very quickly find yourself painted into a career-limiting corner if you only ever accept jobs that pay weekly. I'm guessing our friend is either self-employed or a tradesman.

Get paid every 4 weeks. Works out at 13 pay periods a year and one month you get paid twice

I was in a job and they did that, it was handy the 4 to 5 week difference now is a pain in the hole
