    Anyone using these?
I've no electric in some sheds at the moment. I treat sheep on most evenings etc. I am going to buy one of the above. Are any of you using them and if so what brand to go for?
    I am thinking of
    1. Beam strength
    2. Battery vrs charger
    3. Comfort

Would the local store be a better option than the Internet ones?

I use a head torch for surveys at night and I use a Petzl headtorch https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Professional/Lighting#.V-z3LPArKM8 I think this is similar to the version I have https://www.petzl.com/INT/en/Professional/Ultra-compact-headlamps/TIKKA-PRO#.V-z3vfArKM8 All my colleagues tend to use the Petzl headtorches too. You can buy them online at http://www.53degreesnorth.ie/catalogsearch/result/?q=headtorch or here https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_5?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=petzl+head+torches&sprefix=Petzl%2Caps%2C517

I would suggest that if you plan on using it a lot then go for one of the more powerful and rugged ones that won't slip off so easily etc.

I have two. A led lenser with a 3 little leds, and a non brand one I bought in a electrical factors for about €15, with a little square light chip. Both work off AA and AAA batteries respectively. The square chip ones beam is stronger and could project the beam over a long distance. Both work absolutely fine and I use them during lambing season, over a woolly hat ( which stops them pressing on your head) in the lambing sheds. Don't know how much better a more expensive one would be as they both do the job fine .

Get some batteries and a charger
so for about 40 euro you have 2 lights 4 batteries and charger
And still 20 euro cheaper than donedeal.

We have bought a few Fenix head torches from this guy in Cork.( 1 for everyone in the family )
https://www.facebook.com/conquerthedark/. They might seem a little expensive but they are fantastic and so is the back up service. The guy really appreciates any business. My old Fenix head torch had got a lot of abuse in the sheep shed and I was afraid it would be out of commission by next lambing season so I sent it back for repair. I have it back now & it is just like new. Perfect Christmas present for any farmer

Fenix HL55. Takes 18650 battery with on board mini USB charge port. Get a charger and couple spare batteries for more flexibility but not essential. Used by cops military engineers etc. Highly recommend, turns night into day.

Bought one of these last week.. serious torch I thought with that little LED it wouldn't light up much but I can see fully from the end of a 6 span shed to the other end clearly in pitch darkness nearly lights the whole shed..... might seem like a lot of money to spending on a torch (95 euros) but I see there's a good warranty on it aswell so should last a couple of years if minded .. fierce handy not to be carrying around torch

I ended up buying the Cheata Head Tourch (49 euro)...I am really impressed...on full beam u can see the far end of the field no problem...On low beam I even let a staple and nail fall in the shed and I found it again!.. I haven't charged it since I got it three weeks ago and have used it most nights...Cant recommend it highly enough.
