Do ye reckon this would be safe to drive about 2km on in the morning to get patched?

    Thanks,

    P.

Take it handy and you should be OK. It's close to the side wall so it might not be repairable.

Your main problem is if the driving makes the hole bigger and then the nail then dislodges because once it dislodges the tyre will be down to flat in about 2 mins or less. Worst case the tyre goes completely flat and you will have to change the tyre.

Aye, I thought the same myself. It seems to be lodged in the sidewall only - don't think it has actually penetrated through the tyre but don't want to move it too much to check further.

Hopefully the tyre can be saved - they only went on recently :(

I wouldn't fancy your chances having that repaired, new tyre needed me thinks

Sidewall damage isn't repairable so I also think your looking at new tyre.

Yup, it's a new tyre for you I'm afraid, A patch won't hold there.
If you've only 2kms to travel to the tyre shop then drive it but be very cautious. Of course if you have a spare then stick that on.

    That tyre is a goner
you'll have to wait & see re driving in morn....if it's nae gone down much it won't be an issue but take her handy

To be fair if there's no bulge on the tyre a patch would be ok there.

It's a hole from a nail, not a cut or tear.

That is non repairable like most have said.

If someone repairs that in the tyre center they should be sacked.

I'm no expert but gotta agree with brembo26. ...... it's a goner..... be very VERY suprised if that's 'patchable'

That's a goner. Happened me a few times, and I only had a few quid with me. Had to head back later with notes.

You can see a bit of a wobble in the sidewall just by the nail.
    Definitely f**ked imo

Dropped into Naas Trye & Auto this morning and confirmed that a new tyre required.

I'm now the proud (and slightly poorer) owner of a new Uniroyal.

This was a concern and I rasied it with them but they checked it out and with an almost brand new premium tyre on the other corner also, they confirmed there should be no imbalance whatsoever between them.

Replaced a tyre two months ago after clipping a large sharp rock in a car park which ripped into the side wall, missus clipped the kerb outside the house yesterday and with hardly any wear that tyre is now a write off, side wall damage is a crock, immediate replacement...

Absolutely not. A replacement tyre is the only option.
