Prefacelift or facelift model (does it have separate controls or is it through the radio)?

My guess is on fan resistor pack but somebody will be along with more info. I had the same but the fan only working on the max speed. It was the resistor pack.

i had same issue on an older almera 1999 & there was a credit card type chip / thing under the glovebox that controlled than fan, got one from a scraped car and it was working again perfect, i think the original was water damaged from leaking heater matrix

Usually a simple diy fix on cars. No familiar will almeras though.

You'll need a thermal resister, can be picked up at a scrap yard.

But before doing that, check for any blown fuses.

thanks guys, its controlled through the radio not knob switch, but if it was the resistor would it not blow when turned onto full power?
