    Hi,

My Vodafone landline just got migrated to Vodafones VOIP service (SIP)

Does anyone know the config details needed to configure sip on my F1000 unbranded modem modem ?

Will my Vodafone modem pick up the sip details my default once I plug it back in ? (Assuming I'll need to revert)

If they're provisioning from their management gateway then a branded device should receive a new config within 10 minutes of connecting and reboot itself if appropriate.

You then need to replicate those details on the F1000 and you should be good to go.

You'll have to plug in the Vodafone box as there will likely be a new config due which should include your SIP username and password. Most of the other SIP parameters were pushed down in the last update a few months back

When these are applied, you can login to the modem as superuser and copy the info across

    Menus of interest are...

    Basic > Voice
    Advanced > VoIP
    Advanced > Voice

Right so I plugged in my hg658c and it got the sip config after 5 minutes like ED e said.

Only issue I have now is getting the password it's currently "dotted" out.

Got all the other info I needed as superuser.

Stupidly I didn't think of this

Other than trying to get it from Vodafone support (which I doubt they'll release)... the only other way of getting the password is to download the config from the modem, decrypt it and then try to decrypt the password string. Needs Linux, Python and patience!

If you want to pop me a PM I may be able to help

Right-click the text field which contains the password and choose Inspect Element. It will show the HTML code for the page. Change the type="password" value to type="text" and it should show you the password instantly.

I think this only works if the browser knows the password

It'll likely return a jumble of characters

It works for retrieving the PPPoE credentials from the Vodafone routers so I wouldn't think this would be any different. :)

It should work as its not really a secure UI. You wouldn't want it on a website but with a home gateway its let go.
